A little thing for tonight.
Took around 3 hours or so... This picture went through so many weird stages: I started out with some sort of an underground lab or so, than it shifted to a street scene than briefly a city from above. There were probably more...just can't remember. I couldn't settle with anything, until finally a canyon began to appear. It was pretty much automatic from that point on... Daily DeviationGiven 2006-04-24Canyon Chase by ~artbytheo was done using speed painting techniques. It's a type of art that accomplished artists use to finish images when the creative ideas are flowing. Check his gallery out for more examples, and even a tutorial highlighting his techniques. Boy you have some major major major talent. 3 hours. Wow.
I absolutely love your style. I love how you take, as I said before, arbitrary lines and make them into a larger picture. With your work, you truly can see the forest through the trees so well that you end up seeing only the forest and very few of the smaller trees within. The thing is, all this speed sketching really gives your pictures texture. It makes it seem and feel like a painting I could reach out and feel, and because of that, it gives incredibly movement. It's not like a still photograph that I'm looking at, but rather the whole world that unfolds with your lines.
Your usage of colors is just brilliant. You have such an amazing eye for how lighting can affect the entire mood of the picture. I see you stuck with shades of reds, oranges, and yellows for this piece, giving it a warm look, which also gives energy and life to what may have been a stagnant picture. I can almost hear the sound effects and musical soundtrack that goes along with this. This is just masterful. This is beautiful work in the making, and I absolutely love it. Great piece. I can't believe, it just... it's just almost impossible to believe it only took you 3 hours. You're a true prodigy at this. This is totally your calling. Keep with this style of drawing. It's totally original, and it works incredibly well. You need to seriously, seriously, seriously consider art school.

I contend that we are both atheists. I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours
